Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.' - Coco Chanel

Never, ever confuse what happens on a runway with fashion. A runway is spectacle. It’s only fashion when a woman puts it on. Being well dressed hasn’t much to do with having good clothes. It’s a question of good balance and good common sense.

Woke up this morning to the sad news that Oscar de la Renta has passed away. What a wonderful man with such an incredible talent, known widely for his show stopping dresses and bridal gowns, what a huge loss to the world of fashion. Your work and words of wisdom will be truly missed, may you rest in peace ✨✨✨

What better way to kick off my blog than a post on the Moschino madness that is; Jeremy Scott’s Barbie collection recently displayed at PFW. There had been huge controversy over the new Spring/Summer ‘15 Collection, it’s similar to Marmite…You either love it or you hate it. Following a long, hard look at each of the carefully designed pieces, I’ve come to the conclusion that I love it. After a crazy and colourful, pop culture inspired, yet sophisticated take on fast food and cartoons for F/W ‘14, I had no clue what Jeremy Scott had in mind for the next season, but what a pleasant surprise this has been. It has taken me right back to my youth and I can’t thank Mr Scott anymore for that. Especially as Barbie is who I have to thank for me composing a love for fashion in the first place, having the desire to dress my dolls in glamorous outfits each and every day and now I’m fortunate enough to have been able to watch my childhood dreams come to life. From bold, cropped leather jackets and super cute matching knitwear to statement pink accessories adding the final touches to each individual outfit, it couldn’t be more innovative if it tried. Hats off to you again, Jeremy Scott.
